Notes

Apple HomeView costs $299, which buys a 7-inch touchscreen standing on a speaker base, in silver, starlight, rose pink or space gray. The screen shows 1088 by 1088 pixels at 220 to the inch, and the whole thing weighs 2.1 pounds.

The screen adjusts itself from 500 nits in daylight down to 0.3 nits, dim enough to leave on a bedside table overnight. What it shows changes with how far away you are, putting up simpler information from across the room and more detail close up.

Siri AI runs on it, which Apple describes as an entirely new version of Siri, and it is in beta to begin with. Requests are handled either on the device itself or through Private Cloud Compute. Anyone can use it, whether or not they own an iPhone with Apple Intelligence.

Apple HomeView recognises up to six people by their faces and gives each of them their own version of the screen, with their own content on it. Apple says the face and voice recognition happens on the device rather than being sent anywhere.

A 12-megapixel Center Stage camera sits above the screen for video calls, which keeps a face in frame as it moves. Two full-range drivers are built into the display, with a down-firing woofer and two force-cancelling passive radiators in the base, and four microphones listen for Siri from across a room.

As a smart home dashboard it controls accessories, and its Home Camera face can show up to nine video feeds at once. It listens for the sound of smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and sends an alert to a paired Apple device, and it handles FaceTime, Find My, AirPlay to other rooms and a photo frame mode.

It is not sold in the European Union. Apple says Siri AI is not available in iOS there, and that it is working with the EU to find a path forward.

It was announced on 13 October 2026 at Apple’s ‘Welcome home’ launch, which had no keynote video. Pre-orders opened the same day in six countries including the United States and the United Kingdom, while it is released to shops on 13 November, priced from $299.

Check out the Apple TV 4K (4th generation) announced alongside it.
