iPad mini (A20 Pro)

The iPad mini (A20 Pro) costs $699 and is the first iPad mini with an OLED screen. The 8.5-inch Super Retina XDR display reaches 1,200 nits at its brightest and can drop as low as a single nit, where the model before it managed 600 nits and used an LCD.

The screen grew without the tablet growing. Apple cut the bezels by roughly a quarter, which took the display from 8.3 inches to 8.5 while the body became narrower, thinner at 5.4mm and lighter at 255 grams, down from 293.

Stereo speakers were dropped in favour of an Acoustic Display, which turns the screen itself into the speaker and leaves no speaker holes in the casing. A nano-texture glass option was introduced on the iPad mini (A20 Pro) for the first time, cutting glare for another $100, though only on the 256GB and 512GB versions.

Water and dust resistance was introduced on this generation, rated IP67. The front camera moved to the long edge, so it sits at the top when the tablet is held sideways for a video call. There is a 12MP camera on the back with an adaptive flash, Touch ID in the top button, Wi-Fi 7, and support for both the Apple Pencil Pro and the Apple Pencil with USB-C.

It was announced on 26 October 2026 by press release rather than at an event. Pre-orders open on 28 October, while it reaches customers and Apple Stores on 6 November, priced from $699 for the Wi-Fi model and $849 with cellular.
