Notes
The Studio Display is Apple's 27-inch 5K monitor at $1,599, and the 2026 version arrived almost exactly four years after the first one, which had gone untouched since March 2022. The price remained the same.
Most of the changes are around the edges rather than in the screen itself. The panel is still 27 inches with over 14 million pixels and 600 nits of brightness, so anyone hoping for the brighter, faster screen Apple fitted to the XDR model will not find it here.
The camera was a sizeable improvement. It is now a 12MP Centre Stage camera that keeps you in frame as you move, and it gained Desk View, which uses the same lens to show whatever is sitting on the desk in front of you.
Sound improved as well. Six speakers including four force-cancelling woofers produce bass Apple rates at 30 percent deeper than the previous model.
Connections moved up to Thunderbolt 5, with two of those ports and two USB-C ports on the back. The tilt-adjustable stand comes as standard, with a height-adjustable version or a VESA mount available instead, and nano-texture glass remains a paid option for rooms with difficult light.
It was announced on 3 March 2026, with pre-orders from 4 March, and reached customers on 11 March 2026 at $1,599.
