Studio Display XDR

The Studio Display XDR is Apple's professional monitor at $3,299, and it took the place of the Pro Display XDR, a 32-inch screen that had sold since 2019 at $4,999 with a stand costing $999 more. The replacement is smaller, considerably cheaper, and comes with a height-adjustable stand in the box.

Behind the 27-inch screen sits a mini-LED backlight split into 2,304 zones that brighten and dim independently. That is what lets it hold 1,000 nits across the whole picture and push to 2,000 in small bright areas, while keeping shadows properly dark instead of the washed-out grey an ordinary backlight produces.

The screen also refreshes 120 times a second, double the standard Studio Display, which shows up in scrolling, video editing and anything that moves quickly.

Everything else matches its cheaper sibling: the same 5K resolution at 5120 by 2880, the same 12MP Centre Stage camera with Desk View, two Thunderbolt 5 ports and two USB-C ports, and nano-texture glass as a paid option. The six-speaker system adds Spatial Audio support.

It was announced on 3 March 2026, with pre-orders from 4 March, and reached customers on 11 March 2026 at $3,299.
