Notes

The iPod classic 160GB (Late 2009) cost $249 and brought back the capacity Apple had dropped a year earlier, at a hundred dollars less than the 160GB model of 2007. It replaced the 120GB rather than joining it, so the line stayed at one model.

Nothing else changed. The iPod classic 160GB (Late 2009) kept the same aluminium case, the same 2.5-inch screen and the same thirty-six hours of music, and Genius Mixes was added three weeks later by software.

Apple then sold it unchanged for five years, which is why it ended up being the last iPod with a click wheel and a hard drive inside it.

It was announced on 9 September 2009 at Apple’s autumn music event. There were no pre-orders, and it went on sale the same day, priced from $249.
