Notes
The iPod classic (120GB) cost $249 and replaced both models that came before it, the 80GB at the same price and the 160GB at $349. Apple dropped the larger capacity altogether rather than carrying it over, which left one iPod classic on sale instead of two.
Storage went up by half at the entry price and battery life reached thirty-six hours of music and six of video. The case, screen and controls were unchanged from the iPod classic (120GB)’s predecessor.
Apple reduced the price to $229 before the year was out.
It was announced on 9 September 2008 at the ‘Let’s Rock’ event. There were no pre-orders, and it went on sale the same day, priced from $249.
