Notes

The iPod with colour display cost $299 for 20GB and $399 for 60GB, and was the iPod photo under a new name. No hardware changed. Apple lowered the prices, dropped the “photo” branding and shipped revised software with a podcast menu that could bookmark a place in an episode and show podcast artwork in colour.

Colour became the standard rather than the premium with this model. The greyscale click wheel iPod was dropped on the same day, which left the iPod with colour display as the only full-size iPod Apple sold.

It was announced on 28 June 2005 and went on sale immediately, priced from $299.
