Siri Remote (4th generation)

The Siri Remote (4th generation) costs $59 on its own and comes in the box with the new Apple TV 4K. Apple says it works with every Apple TV HD and Apple TV 4K it has sold since 2015, which covers the first through fourth generations of Apple TV 4K.

Nothing changed on the outside. The shape, the buttons, the clickpad and the USB-C charging port are all as they were on the remote before it, so the two are difficult to tell apart by looking.

Find My support was added, with Precision Finding, which puts arrows on an iPhone screen and walks you to wherever the remote has gone. The Siri Remote (4th generation) can also play a sound on request, which Apple says only this newest version can do. Find My itself works on any Siri Remote from the second generation onwards, while Precision Finding needs an iPhone Duo, an iPhone Air or an iPhone 17 or later, not counting the iPhone 17e.

Buying one on its own is the cheap route to the finding features. At $59 against $299 for a whole new Apple TV 4K, anyone with a box from 2015 onwards can have them without replacing anything else.

It was announced on 13 October 2026 alongside the new Apple TV 4K, at a launch Apple called ‘Welcome home’. Orders opened the same day, while deliveries and shop stock follow on 13 November.
