Notes
The iPod nano (7th generation, Mid 2015) cost $149 and was the same player as before in a different set of colours. The screen, the home button, the Lightning connector, the Bluetooth and the 16GB of storage all carried over untouched.
Gold appeared on a nano for the first time, and purple, yellow and green were dropped, leaving space grey, gold, silver, pink, blue and a red edition. The space grey model had a black glass front while the other five had white.
One other thing changed quietly. The iPod nano (7th generation, Mid 2015) would not work with a Mac running OS X 10.6 or a PC running Windows XP or Vista, where the 2012 model would.
Apple sold it for two more years and then stopped. On 27 July 2017 it was taken off the website along with the iPod shuffle, which left the touch as the only iPod still being made, and the nano had run twelve years from the first one to the last.
It was announced on 15 July 2015 by press release rather than at an event, as part of a refresh covering the whole iPod range. It went on sale the same day, priced at $149.
