Notes

The iPhone 13 mini was Apple's smallest phone at $699, and it turned out to be the last of its kind. Apple introduced the mini in 2020 for people who wanted a phone they could use one-handed, made two of them, and then stopped. When the iPhone 15 was announced in September 2023 the mini quietly left the line-up, and nothing that size has replaced it since.

Everything inside matched the standard iPhone 13 rather than being cut back. The same A15 Bionic chip, the same two cameras with the larger main sensor and sensor-shift stabilisation, the same Cinematic mode for video. The only real differences were the 5.4-inch screen and the smaller battery behind it.

Battery life had been the main complaint about the first mini, and Apple said this one lasted about an hour and a half longer through a day. It still did not match the bigger models, which was always the trade for the size.

The two cameras on the back sat diagonally rather than stacked, because the larger sensor no longer fitted the old arrangement. Entry storage doubled to 128GB at no extra cost, with 256GB and 512GB above it.

Five colours were offered: pink, blue, midnight, starlight and (PRODUCT)RED.

It was announced on 14 September 2021, with pre-orders from 17 September, and reached customers on 24 September 2021 at $699.
