Notes
The iPhone 12 mini was Apple's smallest phone at $699, and it was the first of only two minis the company made. At 5.4 inches it had the smallest screen on any iPhone since the original SE of 2016, and nothing Apple has released since has been smaller.
It was not a cheaper phone with corners cut. The A14 chip, the two cameras, the Ceramic Shield front and the 5G were all exactly as on the full-sized iPhone 12. The only real sacrifice was battery life, which the smaller body could not match.
Like the rest of the generation it shipped without a power adapter or EarPods, and carried the ring of MagSafe magnets in the back for wireless charging and magnetic accessories.
It also arrived three weeks after the iPhone 12. Apple split the launch, putting the 12 and 12 Pro in shops in October and holding the mini and the Pro Max until November.
Five colours were offered: blue, green, black, white and (PRODUCT)RED, with 64GB, 128GB or 256GB of storage.
It was announced on 13 October 2020 at the 'Hi, Speed' event, with pre-orders from 6 November, and reached customers on 13 November 2020 at $699.
