iPhone 17 Pro Max

The iPhone 17 Pro Max sat at the top of the line-up, priced from $1,199, $100 more than the standard 17 Pro, in exchange for a larger 6.9-inch display (up from 6.3 inches) and access to a new 2TB storage tier that isn't offered on the smaller Pro at all. Fully specced with 2TB, the price climbs to $1,999. Preorders opened September 12, 2025, with the phone going on sale in the US on September 19.

Camera system, chip and colour options, Silver, Cosmic Orange and Deep Blue, are all identical to the standard Pro this generation, a change from some previous years where the Max got exclusive camera hardware. The extra size does bring one genuine advantage though. Apple stated up to 39 hours of video playback, against 33 hours on the smaller Pro, and its larger body allows for noticeably louder, fuller-sounding speakers.

At 233g (8.22oz) it's a fair bit heavier than the 206g Pro, and larger in every dimension, worth handling in person before buying given how big this generation's Pro phones have become.
